For this project, the goal was to design and execute a print campaign for a client of your choosing. I took photographs of a pair of goodr sunglasses that I own and created an ad campaign for Facebook demonstrating the brand’s ability to produce sunglasses that are great for outdoor activities. The Photoshop-created ads are made for Facebook but can be used in print ads as well.

For this photograph, I took the sunglasses outside and placed on a snow bank to get a contrast of the white snow and purple glasses, and also have natural light to get the polarized lens to glare from the sun. For this shot I used an f5.6 and a low ISO of 100.

For an additional shot, I went indoors, and I held the glasses at an angle that would allow the polarized lens to shine but also not capture me in the reflection. Knowing that I was using Photoshop, I wanted to give the illusion that the glasses were floating rather than resting on something.

Typography

For this ad, I wanted to match goodrs personal branding style and used a simple sans serif that was fun but easy to read.

Color Palette

For the ad's color palette I researched coloring that goodr typically uses in their promotions, which were usually bright colors to attract the younger demographic that they lean towards. Using the color picker, I matched the color of the glasses.

First draft of image 2

In this first draft, I used Photoshop to place the image of the glasses on a snowy mountain backdrop to match the theme of the advertisement. The background contains images of snowflakes and the light blue to match the polarized lens. The use of hierarchy was not working for this image and the pink/purple font was not a good fit for the light blue background.

In the second draft, I used Lightroom to enhance the image of the glasses on the snow matching again the theme of the advertisement. The background contains images of snowflakes and the light blue to match the polarized lens. But the blue was a little too bright and distracted from the image, also the use of two different fonts was confusing.

Final Image 1

For the final design, I chose a darker color background that matched the glasses' color. I also found goodr's logo and used that instead of just typing the name.

Final Image 2

For this final image, I again matched the backround with the color of the galsses, removing the light blue. I also changed the name of the company to their actual logo, and instead of having a hierarchy style type, I kept the text all together at the bottom of the image.

Ads on Social Media

Each ad has been designed to work with both Facebook and Instagram, both being big product selling apps. The bright colors of the ads stand out from the white backdrop of the social media pages.
